Welcome to The Footnote, a place where the scientific events of importance and interest at the present time are explored in a simple and straightforward way. 

New discoveries in science, engineering, and technology have the ability to significantly change our lives. With a fundamental understanding of how our world operates and a curiosity to learn more, we become responsible citizens overseeing the eternal relationship between knowledge and the physical world.

I am a high school student with an interest in technology and how it fits into our modern world. I read, a lot, and I've always been fascinated by new and groundbreaking ideas that have the incredible potential to change our world. The goal of this website is to take my curiosity, convert it into megabytes and kilobytes, and share it with anyone and everyone who has ever watched the news and asked "how?" or "why?"

But this isn't an encyclopedia...

Rather, it's a sampling of some things that I believe can greatly influence our future as citizens, taxpayers, consumers, and, most importantly, human beings. I can't explain everything, obviously, but I can draw our attention to interesting developments, things that may only scrape the surface of the scientific world but will hopefully spark genuine curiosity. I am not a business tycoon, nor a professor with a Ph.D., nor a world-famous celebrity, nor a best-selling author. I'm a high school student giving the perspective from a generation that is bound to leave its footprint on this world. Every footprint is worthy of a footnote.
